Hello UK Sopiets (is that still a thing?) –
This month and next, we are holding FOUR Official Sopio Super League Championship Tournaments across the UK! Alex and I will be selling decks and boosters, everyone will play lots of Sopio and the winner of each tournament will get a certificate and A SOPIO CRYSTAL. Yeah man, this just got real.
Tournament entry is £5 for each event but places are limited, so book your spot online and bring your PayPal receipt with you:
Edinburgh – Saturday, October 8th:
Eric Liddell Centre
15 Morningside Road
90-capacity, starts at 12PM, ending no later than 4:30 PM
Nearest train station: Haymarket Rail (or number 16 bus)
SEE YOU SOON! 😀
All across the UK not including the SW 😛
Though I am awesomely glad that such a thing exists and I’m hoping they prove hugely popular.
We tried to spread them out as much as we could but it was hard to find venues everywhere
Is this coming anywhere near the south east? X
If these things go well. Do one between 28-31 December when I’ll be travelling all the way from Australia into that great old London town 🙂
best of luck to all entrants!
what about caambridge?:o
Trains to London all the time 😀
Damn, if the Edinburgh one was in September I’d so be there!
I would love to go to the Manchester one, but I’m working in those exact hours 😥 Hope everyone has fun anyway 😀
is this a serious thing? lol♥
100% serious. People have asked for tournaments – we have provided!
That is just too awesome. I wish I lived in the UK!!!
WHAT HAPPENED TO BRIGHTON 😦
We cant go everywhere – come to London? #travellingwoes
COME TO IRELAND
Come to Manchester 😀
whens the next one guys…better be soon *taps foot*….i will take the top spot…just saying…. im coming to the next manchester one!
Got my ticket for the London event 😀 Also, incredibly short journey to venue… WIN
I wish i could go to one but none of them are near me…
Oh i wish youd come to hull
My daughter is interested in gong tot the Manchester tournament – not to play Sopio but just to watch and possibly but some decks etc. Would this be possible? Thanks, Catherine.
Hi Catherine, whereas normally this would be fine, the places available are pretty much the capacity of the events, so if it sells out then there would be no room for her. Plus if we let one in to just watch and stuff then others will too which creates a logistical nightmare! If she pays entry then she can choose not to play – though she can learn the game as we go and it should be fun for her 🙂
Awesome. So if i pay and book the tickets and what not i wouldn’t have to play? Too amateur to compete you see ^^
One that note, will you be hanging around in the cities before/after it finishes?
ALSO, how popular has the manchester tournament been? just out of curiosity
This is so awesome! Just bought my ticket to the London tournament!
ahhh i have no one to go with, and this is the first thing thats come to Birmingham thats good in ages!
Then come by yourself. There will be people there to hang out with. We are all nice people 😀
So excited for this! My boyfriend (DJGigabyte) and I have been trying to set up an unofficial tournament in Newcastle for ages but Edinburgh is awesome. And it’s on the same day as the Acoustic Trock Night in Glasgow, so it’ll really be an awesome day!
I love England. I wish I lived there. On one page of the internet I have seen a million things I would move to England for *mope*… Acoustic Trock night, Sopio Tournaments.. Golly, Canada just has.. well nothing.
Can there be a tournament in America soon?
i live in Australia, but am traveling around the uk and would love to come to the Edinburgh tournament, but i don’t have anywhere the tickets could be posted in the UK, is there another way i could collect the tickets?
The ticket is just your Paypal receipt, so if you purchase it then we will have your details there 🙂
Suppose you don’t want to hop on a plan to Dublin, do you? 🙂 It would be great to have it in Ireland.
Im not allowed to go to the Sopio tournament. Are there any events coming up that mean i’ll be able to meet Alex? (or Charlie or whatever) xxx
Why Not Newcastle it is quite major and i know so many poeple that would love to watch play is it because of lack of time or just not possible ?
We tried to balance north/south/midlands and these were the most accesible places by trains
Unparalleled accuracy, unequivocal clarity, and uenndiable importance!
If you book in advance you can get quite cheap return tickets from Newcastle to Edinburgh, and it only takes around an hour and a half each way.
I’m trying to buy a Manchester ticket, but paypal keep refusing my card 😦
Hi Michael, if you email us we will see if we can help – firstname.lastname@example.org
Is there any chans to bye deck one? 🙂
Deck 1 is now back in stock and will be for sale at tournaments
How can we tell how many tickets are still available for any of the tournaments?
At the time of posting this only about 30 in each venue left. If they well out we will remove the button 🙂
I accidentally gave you my wrong shipping address and have no idea how to get into contact with you to change it.
Just email us at email@example.com with the name and address you want to change from / to
We’re allowed to play if we’re total amateurs right? Me and a friend have been pondering on clubbing together to buy a deck for ages (really expensive :/) but our pondering never quite ended so we’ve decided to come to the tournament instead and hopefully buy decks there too.. We both learn pretty fast (he’s a genius, no lie) so we hoped it’d be okay. And we’ve bought tickets to the London event. Will this be alright?
Of course amateurs can play. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Counting down the days to the London Tournament me and my friend will probs be youngest there. x
BEST DAY OF MY LIFE THANK YOU SO MUCH LOVE ONE OF THE CRAZY YOU GIRLS WHO SAT AT THE FRONT XXX
what deck will be used?
Both Decks will be used 🙂
So if I want to come, but have never played before nor do I own a deck, that would be ok? I’d love to learn how to play and meet people (nerdfighters, memebers of the nermie army), though. 😀
Of course you can come and learn to play there 😀
awesome! Just bought my ticket. I’ll see you guys in Edinburgh.
Just wondering if there is a minimum age for the tournaments? Me and my friend are 14 and are wanting to come to the Edinburgh one, but don’t want to turn up and get rejected.
P.S. Any idea how many tickets are left for the Edinburgh one?
There is no age limit, feel free to come along 🙂
There are about 15 tickets left at the moment
Thanks for the help, hope to see you there! 🙂
Me And My Friend Are Only 12 😦 Gonna Be So Lost LOL x
Will The Prices For The Cards Be The Same?
Hello all, I was just wondering concerning these tournaments and general activities concerning Alex and his colleagues. Do you have security or close protection of the group/venues?
Apologising in advance for being slightly late tomorrow because of many things, including getting lost. Been checking Google maps/street view and finally managed to find it (the way the streets are laid out in the area confuses street view) but hoping for such good luck tomorrow would be wishful thinking.
How many Edinburgh tickets are left?!
(It’s not my payday until Friday! D:)
I think there is 1 left!
I went to the London tournament and I really enjoyed it. Are you going to the tournaments again? I Would love to go to another, but it’s in Edinburgh. Thanks
Worded that poorly. Will you do more tournamets after Edinburgh?
When will there be another tournament in London, or just another series of tournaments? Just got into it and really want to try it out properly!
Hopefully yes 🙂
Are there going to be any tournaments in Edinburgh in 2012? And can people of any ages go?
Any tournaments wont be until the summer most likely. But Edinburgh would be a choice again yes.
this year will you be doing any in frimley/frimley green/ surrey/ camberley/ guildford and where in london?
London will most likely be the same place as before – Canning Town area, not sure about other areas yet, we need to be accesible for others and ourselves 🙂
Are you going to hold a tournament in Manchester this year? Because I would so love to go, although I’m not very experienced in Sopio 🙂
Hopefully we will do 🙂
How’s about Edinburgh?
When in the summer are you planning on holding the tournaments? I’d love to go but I just need to know because of holidays and stuff 😀
Not sure, July or August i suspect!
Okay 😀 I just so hope i can come when the dates come out!
